Remarks

Configured via WithNullHandling(NullHandling). The chosen mode affects output size and round-trip fidelity: omitting null values reduces payload size but means the absent field will be deserialized as whatever default value the type uses rather than an explicit null.

Fields

Name Description
Ignore

Null field and property values are omitted from the serialized output entirely. This reduces payload size but means that upon deserialization any omitted field will receive the type's default value (usually null for reference types), which may differ from an explicitly-written null if the deserializer initializes fields to non-null defaults.
Include

Null field and property values are written to the serialized output as explicit null tokens (e.g., "field": null in JSON). This preserves the distinction between a field being absent and a field being explicitly null, ensuring faithful round-trips for object graphs where nullability is semantically significant.
