    Class InputAssetInfo

    What an action asset is, said in the author's own words: a name, a description, and a version.

    Inheritance
    object
    InputAssetInfo
    Inherited Members
    object.Equals(object)
    object.Equals(object, object)
    object.GetHashCode()
    object.GetType()
    object.MemberwiseClone()
    object.ReferenceEquals(object, object)
    object.ToString()
    Namespace: Scylla.Input
    Assembly: ScyllaInput.dll
    Syntax
    [Serializable]
    public class InputAssetInfo
    Remarks

    Everything else on the sidecar describes a part of the asset. This describes the whole of it, which the .inputactions file has no room for: it carries a file name and nothing else, so the only account of what an action set is for has been the file name and whatever a reader could infer from the maps.

    All three are optional and stay optional. Nothing derives a default, nothing validates the format, and nothing downstream requires a value: an asset with an empty block behaves exactly as it did before the block existed, down to generating a byte-identical constants file. IsEmpty is what every consumer asks rather than testing the three fields itself, so "optional" has one definition.

    Version is free text on purpose. Semantic versioning is the obvious convention and most projects will use it, but a project versioning its input schema as 2024-Q3 or rev 12 is not wrong, and a field that refused those would be enforcing a preference rather than a requirement. Nothing in Scylla parses it; it is carried, shown, and emitted verbatim.

    Fields

    Description

    What the action set is for, in free-form prose.

    Declaration
    [Tooltip("What this action set is for. Optional, free-form, and may span several lines.")]
    [TextArea(3, 10)]
    public string Description
    Field Value
    Type Description
    string

    Name

    Display name for the action set, or empty to fall back to the asset's file name.

    Declaration
    [Tooltip("Display name for this action set. Optional; the asset's file name is used when empty.")]
    public string Name
    Field Value
    Type Description
    string

    Version

    Author-assigned version, in whatever form the project versions things.

    Declaration
    [Tooltip("Author-assigned version. Optional and free-form: nothing parses it.")]
    public string Version
    Field Value
    Type Description
    string

    Properties

    IsEmpty

    Gets whether nothing has been filled in.

    Declaration
    public bool IsEmpty { get; }
    Property Value
    Type Description
    bool
    Remarks

    Whitespace counts as empty. A field holding a stray space is not information, and treating it as such would put a blank line in a generated header.
